Los Angeles Dodgers Prospects 2023

Overall Grade: B+

The Dodgers farm system remains in great shape, though it’s not quite as elite as we’ve seen in recent years. After a surprisingly quiet offseason, the immediate impacts of the players on this list could be greater that we’ve grown accustomed to at Chavez Ravine.

Los Angeles Angels Prospects 2023

Overall Grade: D+

I really like the top of the Angels farm system, but they’re obviously lacking depth. That’s been a long trend for an organization that’s grown a reputation for skimping at the margins.

Kansas City Royals Prospects 2023

Overall Grade: D

The Royals had some very significant prospect graduations last year, leaving the farm system in a not-great state. They will need the 2022 draft class to pan out, led by the top prospect in the system.

Houston Astros Prospects 2023

The Astros have some depth, but they are lacking many impact players at the top of the system. The remnants of the Jeff Luhnow scandal are clear, and now an offseason with a GM could bring another setback.

Detroit Tigers Prospects 2023

Overall Grade: C+

New Tigers baseball ops lead Scott Harris didn’t inherit a loaded system, but he’s already made strides improving it with early trades. Given his background, it’s reasonable to expect the progress to continue over the next 2-3 years.

Colorado Rockies Prospects 2023

Overall Grade: C+

Given the poor state of the MLB squad, Colorado’s farm system leaves a lot to be desired. They have several interesting hitting prospects, made even more intriguing by the backdrop of Coors Field, but pitching talent in the system is almost non-existent.

Cleveland Guardians Prospects 2023
