Thanks for visiting! My name is Seth Trachtman, and I’m a sports digital marketing and writing professional residing in St. Louis, MO. My passions include dogs, weight lifting, craft beer, true crime documentaries… and sports.
Obsessed with the Kansas City Chiefs, Mizzou Tigers, and baseball statistics while growing up, I started playing fantasy baseball salary cap games at CNNSI Smallworld circa 1998. That brought me to other early fantasy baseball gaming sites like Sandbox, Yahoo, ESPN, Fanball, and CDMSports. I started sharing my fantasy baseball musings for various publications a short time later (Fantasy Insights, FOXSports.com, RotoTimes.com, Rotoworld, Fanball, Yahoo!, Sporting News, Street & Smith’s, NBC Sports, Lindy’s, etc.).
I’ve worked full-time in sports media since 2008, with fantasy baseball career highlights including:
- Published in over 100 fantasy sports newsstand magazines
- Winner of 2016 Tout Wars AL-only expert’s league and four top-three finishes
- 4th overall in NFBC Draft Champions 2021
- Top 20 finishes in NFBC Draft Champions and Online Auction Championship 2022
I’m currently the Marketing and Operations lead at TeamRankings.com as well as a freelance content producer at Yardbaker.com and Lindy’s Sports Magazines.

During my time in sports media, I’ve become known for writing player profiles. I wrote all fantasy baseball and fantasy football profiles for Sporting News and Street & Smith’s fantasy baseball and fantasy football publications for many years, and before that time, wrote preseason player profiles in ebooks and magazines annually, beginning in 2001. As the sports media landscape evolves into sports betting, the reality is that there is now less demand for these profiles.
Still, I feel strongly in my in-depth player research process, and I continue this process regardless of publication. Since I have this info, I might as well publish it somewhere!
Additionally, I have used my weekly fantasy baseball notes as a basis for weekly content published at Fanball, NBC Sports Rotoworld, and other publications through the years. I plan to continue posting those weekly notes, likely in a far less polished form, in the hope that fantasy players will find some insight reading them.
